WPMUDEV Forums Subscribe to Thread Option

Would love to be able to subscribe to threads and be notified when there are replies….. the alternative is bookmarking threads and checking back at regular intervals… no fun! No brainer upgrade imho!!

    Or… you can simply get an email when someone replies to your thread…. I mean it’s a plugin guys!

    Maybe there’s a thread from 6 months ago that someone has responded to with an update… the bookmark method doesn’t work in that case… I mean instant notification versus checking back every hour, day, week, month… is there really a need for a conversation about this? Just some feedback, I know that I personally find the subscription option incredibly useful on all the forums I visit… just my two cents.

    Gotta admit that it’s the first thing I turn off on almost all of the forums I visit. The only ones I leave it on are the ones I don’t visit every day. (There’s a few.) I get enough emails every day between server and firewall notifications.

    I lean away from email notifications as much as possible. Why? To use an example, AOL will block an IP address with a 1% "report as spam" average. Mind you, that’s an IP address, not just a domain. Get enough people ticked off at you and you’ll find your mail blocked or marked as spam fairly quickly.

    It’s up to Andrew though. As he noted, you could always do the favorites and drop the feed into feedburner and get daily emails on what’s been updated.
