Some holiday themes

Here’s a zip with 6 holiday/winter themes for your install. They are all currrently running on my own install at HSJ. Two themes are by Ron and I.

They include as follows:

Atypical Christmas (theme options and changeable header)

Winter (theme options. I don’t know why I didn’t add the header option here.)

Christmas 1

Vermillion Christmas

Iceburrg (header option)

Red Xmas Ornament (header option)

They *should* be okay. Just make sure to enable them on a test blog and have a look just to double-check.

I’m sure some or a lot of the code is not quite up to Luke’s standards ;P, but they’ll do. I found a few more holiday themes, but some need work to be enjoyable in the MU environment (TABLES in the sidebar??) and a couple were just plain ugly.

    I hunted high and lo and the only one I found was for 8 Crazy Days and Nights (the Adam Sandler movie) and it has disappeared.

    If I had time I’d make one – nice dark blues with some silver/grey touches and a tasteful header with traditional graphic elements. Okay, a skin really…

    Thanks much. I’ll save them for next year. I have TOO much on my plate now to even mess with them this year.

    I noticed that you mentioned ones that had, and didn’t have header options. So some themes you can not use a header graphic? I just assumed they all could. I guess I’ve only been using ones that you could.

    Only some of them can do the header uploading. It’s really a matter if the theme designer kept up with the recent changes when it came to their theme. (ie widgets, custom header, the merging of categories, the addition of tags, etc) Ryan did a walkthru on what needs to be done for adding in header support. Please see if that helps.

    Some you can’t change the header this is there, right. :slight_smile: Soemtimes you’ll get a theme where it really isn’t sutiable to allow a custom one. they might have background edges in it, or part of a menu, it depends. I know the vermillion christmas one is like that.

    It’s a pain the first couple of times but once you get the hang of it, it’s fairly simple. The only problem is that some themes will be to be modified/ rewritten. Kubeck (however its spelled) is the biggie and Auto(“But really, we believe in open source”:wink:mattic didn’t release it when they did it for wp.com.
