Error previewing or accesing website after activating BuddyPress Magazine Theme

Hi,

I have uploaded BuddyPress magazine theme to our website. Tried a preview in the admin panel, got an error message. Activated the theme and now unable to access the website. I only see the below error message.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_page_title() in /hermes/bosweb/web238/b2389/ipg.tutionfeecom/iwebs/wordpress-mu/wp-content/themes/bp-magazine/header.php on line 11

Thank You

@nkollipara: A few questions if possible so I can see what your issue is. Are you using the parent and child theme or just the parent (bp-magazine)? I assume you are using BuddyPress as it’s a BuddyPress only theme currently. I also assume your site is working for say the default BuddyPress theme it’s only erroring on the BuddyPress Magazine theme?

I had the same problem. The theme displayed in preview mode and then I activated the theme.

When I visited the front page of my website, the website failed to load and I got a blank page – however when I typed in the url for the registration page, the theme and page displayed – when I returned to front page – blank screen.

I couldn’t access admin as a result – either from front page or any other page – I had to use phpadmin to change the theme in the database table and then log back in with old theme!…

    Looks like a great theme.

@match11: sorry about that I’ll try and get to the bottom of it for you. One question are you using both the child and parent? If so have you got them both in the theme directory but you are only activating the child theme (you don’t have to activate the parent). That or are you just using the parent – it should just work for the parent but trying to see what is going on to cause this. Also does this problem happen when you are activating say the default BuddyPress theme or is it just with the BuddyPress Magazine one? One other thought what plugins do you have and does the same problem occur when you turn those off – thinking of anything that could be causing the problem here so apologies for the multiple questions.

    Q. 1 I only had the parent theme activated – not the child theme.

    Q. 2 The problem only seems to be happening when activating the BuddyPress Magazine theme. All other themes (including default) work well.

    Q. 3 A few plugins: Supporters, Avatars, Who’s Online, bbpress

    Hope this helps

@match11: hmmm interesting thanks for the responses. Unfortunately I’m not replicating things over here however I’m determined to get to the bottom of this one. Could you try for me to disable the plugins see if that works, if not could you go the parent / child theme route to see if that resolves it for you – it shouldn’t matter with the parent / child bit but I’m trying to see where the issue is exactly. If so I will review and get to the bottom of why that does.. if not I’ll go back to drawing board and investigate more for you
