Suggested Plug in: Social Networking Integration to the activity stream

I’ve been thinking about this for some time.

A great feature to have would be Social Networking Integration, where as, members could input their Twitter, Facebook, Linked In,( and maybe a few others) log in information and their activity on those sites, would auto update their profile and the activity stream on your WPMU/Buddypress site.

That kind of function really separates the men from the boys in the world of Social networking and is now a common function of most sites.

I think it would also go a long way to enticing more membership sign ups as people move towards integrating all of their profiles.

What do you guys think?

    I hadn’t seen that one before, but looking at the installation and read me files, it hasn’t been updated since last year. I also got a malicious website alarm when I visited the plug in site.

    Doesn’t exactly give me a sense of confidence.

    Has or dos anyone use this plug in, “Twitter To Wire”?

    There’s a few around that’ll tweet your posts, or update your fb status, etc… But I doubt they’ll share your activity wire. Best case: you would need a dozzen plugins that may or may not work well with bp and come to think of it, may or may not even like each other.

    I vote for an all-in-one solution.

    I’m not a programmer but I’m guessing based on what I’ve seen that it may be relatively simple with the Twitter and Facebook API, not sure about the others, but I vote for who ever is supporting development

    The first 4 that come to mind are Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Foursquare. Just those would be perfect..or even just Twitter to start since it seems everything is made to post to Twitter now, you would still get all updates from other profiles by default via Twitter.

    I would love a plugin like this.

    This is the best plugin I could find for managing social networks from wp but it isn’t great yet

    I think wpmudev could build a much better one. If this is a plugin wpmudev considers making, please let me know so I can add my two cents.

    Thanks for considering. I think this would be a great addition to your extensive plugin list and would bring in a lot more premium subscribers.
