Commenting problems with Blix and Tarski themes

Hi all,

Here are a couple of problems that I’ve come across in a couple of the themes we are using, Blix and Tarski – both relate to commenting.

In Blix, when a comment is made on a post and submitted, it just leads to a blank page. If you press back and submit it again, it says there is an error and this comment has already been submitted. If you then refresh the post, it shows that the comment was actually sucessful…although it is working it would seem, it’s not particularly ideal!

Secondly, inTarski, the comments on a post were actually being displayed on a different post. We manaaged to attribute this to the Recent Posts plugin that the user was using and it works when that is switched off. Again though, it’s not ideal as the user was really quite like to display recent posts in his sidebar!

Any thoughts?!

Anything in the webserver’s error logs?

In the back of my mind, I’m thinking a blank page after commenting is someone being trapped by the antispam solution. WordPress assumes that it’s really a bot leaving it so doesn’t kick out an actual error. (There was a big long thread on wank’s blog after Matt blackballed me on the subject. I’d go digging but I’m time limited today.) I’m wondering if this is what’s occurring. You’re not getting your comment dropped into the spam queue, are you?

I will have a look at the error logs/spam queue

In the meantime, I will have a play with the spam filter combinations – I think the blogger in question actually has two running

Any thoughts on the Tarski one – it’s killing me!

OK, I seem to have been able to fix the problem!

Frankly I don’t know what exactly was up originally, but through fiddling around with a few plugins it seems to have sorted itself out…I’m truly riddled as to the exact problem, but I don’t mind anymore because it all works OK again!

    Cheers for help
