Batch Create – plugin conflict causes incorrect password

I have just used Batch Create to create a dozen blogs and since it has the option to set passwords I chose to set my own passwords for them. The blogs get created I receive notification emails with MY passwords but I also get the notification email with auto-generated passwords and those work while my passwords don’t work.

(I have to go in and manually change passwords for all blogs – which is not a pretty task at all)

Am I doing something incorrectly or is this a bug that requires fixing?

    quite a few of them,,,,

I use the modified register plus… I tried deactivating it too and I get the same result…

I use set password at registration plugin as well….

I can’t see any others that tap into password creation…

MU is set not to send emails when blogs are registered… and I even use remove-email-verification

Technically I should have NO emails sent whatsoever…

    Hiya,

Something is definitely interfering it seems. We’re happy to look into compatibility with whichever plugin that is but it’ll have to be narrowed down first I’m afraid.

is WP sing a standard encryption algorithm for passwords? I could go into the database and replace them…

You can update the passwords in the db with an md5 hash of the plain text password. The passwords will be converted to the newer hashes the next time the user logs in.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

I will try to narrow it down. There is a few things I am looking into right now.

For the moment, on the ones I need,, I will just update the passwords in DB,, but will definitely look into possible cause for this and let you know.

Definitely Register Plus Conflict. All blogs get created fine when the plugin is FULLY deactivated… So it is not a problem,,, passwords are set ok now.

One thing I find annoying is the emails. it would be practical to have an option to send or not send notification emails so if you are creating blogs for others they should get the emails,, but if yuo are doing it for yourself there is no need to swamp all email accounts with confirmations.

But other then that ,,, seems alright now that I deactivated RP ,,, and the activate it as soon as blogs are created

There is a setting option to NOT inform the admin of the site about new blogs being created – you get emails with or without it being active. I am sure it can be done just as there is a plugin that prevents email notifications…

Hey,, I am not saying that you should jump on developing that,,, it is just a little much when you create a bunch of blogs to clean up multiple email accounts when you own them,,,lol
