Events calendar plugin wont install properly

I have tried to install the plugin on several ocassions the same way I have done for other plugins. It becomes activated but the only sign of it working is a calendar icon that seems to go back to my homepage. There is nothing I can see in dashboard or any way of using the function on the site whether logged in or not.

HELP!!

Please double check the readme/install file that’s included with the download to make sure you’ve installed it correctly. Chances are you’ve got a file installed in the wrong place. It’s always a good idea to read any documentation included with any program or script, not just wordpress.

Please get in the habit of checking your webserver’s error logs as well to see what gets dropped in there and including that information when asking for help. That’s a good habit for all support forums, again, not just wordpress. Checking that for any errors would be a plus.

edit: I found three different “events calender” plugins for bp. Which one are you using? Please link to it just so we know that we’re all talking about the same one.

    Thanks for the quick reply,

I went through the documentation at the start of install even to the degree of trying to recreate a table in mysql but it said there already was one. That was a big task in itself as my knowledge is so limited at the moment.

I will have a look at the server error logs (once I find out where they are stored as I am a newbie!).

Do you mean you found 3 on my site or there are 3 that you know of? I have tried to get the thing working that many times I am loosing track of what I have and have not installed. (Sorry to be so non descript).

I am having a similar issue. I have installed the plugin in the plugin in the plugin directory and activated site-wide. When I click on the “Calendar” tab within the group, I am directed back to the homepage. The website we’re running plugin tests on is http://webcontenteditor.net/.

    – WPMU version : 2.9.2

    – BuddyPress version: Version 1.2.1

    – Theme version: BuddyPress Scholar Child 1.0.6

Thank you in advance for the resolution.

    cheers ~

    Yes Andrew.

    johnetec;

I spent ages and ages trying to work out where I went wrong here but have to say I got no further. However, I bit the bullet and installed wpmu and budypress via Psek (see the manuals on this site) and am pleased to say that when I installed the calendar it seemed to work just fine.

WPMU is a totally different beast as far as I can see and I now have bigger and more challenging problems that need solving. The point being, it may be worth persisting with WordPress.

My site where calendar should work is http://www.community1stop.com

let me know if it works at your end and if you fancy a joint approach to understanding this open source stuff then let me know!!!

hi guys – is this plugin only for wpmu? I’m using wp and so far the plugins and themes that I’ve used off your site are working just fine – but this plugin keeps crashing my site as soon as I activate it. What to do?

    Please help!

Using Scholar theme for BP – on WP
