Does edu clean work on WP single installs w/ BP?

I’m pondering setting up a WP single user (2.9.2) install to run Buddypress. I really like the edu clean theme but am wondering if it’s built to function on WP single or if it is ONLY built/supported for WPMU?

I tried to load it on WP single user and it’s a bit wonky. The members/groups/users page tabs in the theme bring up an error page.

This post can be deleted (didn’t see the ability to do it myself) – the answer to the question and any issues were related to a specific plugin we were running. The theme page itself in the dashboard also confirms it should work with WP.
