Download manager wpmudev plugin ?

Hi !

Well, I have tried many download manager plugins out there, but all of them have a big problem : the default path configuration. Those plugins are generally not thought for MS installs, and, as opposed to something as Nextgen gallery which allows the super admin to set up a default path for subsites, those plugins ask the user to set the path showing all the WP install structure which is not acceptable.

Shall we have a nice download manager allowing to set up nice downolad pages and allowing any user on the network to use it by setting the default path to his folder (/blog.dir/x/files/downloads/ ) ?

I told you, coffee plantation reactivated….

But this is not as critical as the registration proccess plugin I told tou about in another thread :wink:

    I can definitely see a use for this. We just completed a survey of all members about a month ago and this wasn’t something that was highly sought after so we’d need to see lots of interest here for this to have a priority.

    To be clear, you’re wanting a plugin that would allow individual sites the ability to define a downloads directory, but have it be obscured so that a visitor can’t see the path?

    I’d recommend using NextGen with the New Blog Template plugin so that the gallery section is automatically created for new sites, but it appears something’s wrong with this setup on NextGen’s end of things per this thread:

    non my problem is not nextgen which works fine, just having the same concept of default path definition for someting as download manager, which allows to create the folder anywhere in the WP structure.

    I know about the survey but that was not in the questions at this moment :wink:
