[Defender] PHP Warning: Illegal string offset strings

When I have Defender installed and run a file scan my error log contains a lot of errors like this:

PHP Warning: Illegal string offset ‘strings’ in /…/wp-content/plugins/wp-defender/app/module/scan/behavior/pro/scans/yara-engine.php on line 56
