[Shipper Pro] Shipper needs improvements

Hi,

I’m leaving this here because I can’t find a way to leave feedback for your products. When I press “Feedback” on The Hub, and then press “Start Discussion” it goes straight to the support page. I don’t want to occupy the agents’ time with my feedback. You should fix that.

My actual feedback: Shipper needs lots of improvements. Package creation and API Migration both failed to me and I lost a day waiting for nothing. Both methods are unreliable and need looots of time.

I ended up using the ol’ trusty “Migrate Guru” which starts the migration in seconds. By the time it needs Shipper to complete the pre-flight tests and start creating a package, “Migrate Guru” has already copied the -large- database and it continues with the files. The whole process takes MINUTES, instead of hours with Shipper. All that without impacting the server load.

What Shipper needed 59 hours to migrate (with API Migration), “Migrate Guru” did it in less than an hour! I started the migration at 11:39 and completed it at 12:24!

Unfortunately, Shipper is another one of your plugins I’m not gonna use (until it gets way better).

    We really appreciate getting back to us and sharing your experience with Shipper. API Migration is slower compared to what other plugins offer; Shipper was developed with one main goal, no data should be lost during migration. Our focus was on safe migration method, so we had to sacrifice something in return. Unfortunately safer migration requires more time.

    As we are constantly working on improvements, our developers are focused now on migration speed for the Package and API Migration method, for the next version of the Shipper plugin :slight_smile:

    After the next release, please feel free to try out the plugin one more time, and share with us your experience! We will really appreciate it!
