[The Hub Client] Allow Additional email accounts to be associated with a given client and their bi

0

Allow additional email accounts to be associated with a client, and their client billing portal. I guess maybe that would involve those additional email accounts to have their own login details, ‘a role’ that grants them access to an existing client.

Scenario & Reasons for this request:

We have several clients, who have been setup via the client billing, paying for recurring services (plugins/hosting etc).

These clients and their email addresses are the primary email associated with the client billing account/portal. They would have initially setup and configured their account with us; their billing details, chosen products/services etc.

Les say for example their email is:

[email protected]

Now, these clients all have accountants, who deal with all financial aspects of their business (including staying on top of invoices coming in), and thus the client wants to avoid or offset any admin themselves, i.e. the invoices/emails that are related to re-occurring payments.

So once a client has signed up with us (using their email), chosen services/products etc and configured their billing for re-occurring payments, their accountant is the one that needs to be notified and also given access to invoices that are automatically generated by the client billing system.

Lets say for example their email is:

[email protected]

I know I could just configure the [email protected] as the email associated with a client and their billing portal. But that’s not really a comprehensive solution, as the accountant (their email) doesn’t need to be involved with anything but the invoices.

I guess I could also ask a new client, when signing them up, to utilise a special/new email that both the client and their account have access to, say for example:

[email protected]

But, again this not a comprehensive solution. As I can’t expect my clients to create more admin/email accounts for themselves just for this scenario.

Considering these factors, maybe there’s a work around already, that I’ve overlooked?

I would love to know how other WPMUDEV users are dealing with this scenario, as it must be quite common?

Many Thanks.

    Hello mttd.studio ,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I can see this is a valid reason to have two separate emails. I’ll send a feature request to the Hub team so they can see what can be done.

As a workaround, your clients can create forwarding rules to send emails with invoices to their accountant. Like that in Mail App:

    Hi David Demastus ,

At the moment, I’m afraid there isn’t further news that we could share regarding this. It’s something which is still being considered by our team in future.

In the meantime, you could check whether adding email forwards help in such use cases on your Email client side to help with sending the emails to multiple email addresses.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin
