[The Hub] Speed improvements on the Hub and Support/Community

1

The load times for the site list are very poor. We’ve around 200 sites migrated to you so far and it’s already become very painful. Likewise searching in the feature request board.

Another thing thats painfull slow for me is searching for a product when building an invoice for a customer – it’s a very small dataset, so really shouldn’t perform so badly.

    Hi Chris Ryu (Dorset Tech)

    I hope you’re well today!

As for the site list – currently, if you have more than 50 sites connected to the Hub, the list can be paginated and you can set the number of pages to be listed on a single page (there’s option for that right below the site list). Limiting that number can help and increase the loading speed.

But in general – we are also working on Hub improvements (including its performance) all the time and there are frequent updates deployed. I don’t have detailed insights into this area of development/development plans but I know and can tell that stability and performance are taken seriously and there’ll surely be improvements added continuously over time.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Hi Adam

My list is paginated to 50 already. The problem is the length of time each query takes. The page takes a long time to load, then I search for a site name, it takes ages, I click the site, it takes ages, etc. The whole system needs to be much snappier. Perhaps you just need to upgrade your own hosting as it’s not consistent speed right now so probably a resource issue.

As I said, it’s even in the invoices. I start typing the name of the product and it takes ages to load. There’s only 20 products.

    Hi Chris Ryu (Dorset Tech)

    Thank you for the update,

For pagination, could you try to set a smaller value?

As Adam said, we already reported similar situations to the HUB team and we will work to improve the performance.

There are 2 factors that usually affect the performance:

    – A large number of items:

When we load the page HUB needs to call the content from the database before being able to create some caching, depending on the number of sites it can take longer for the API to return the data, and then next time since the cache is built the load is faster.

    – Browser extensions or Slow browser.

Since it uses React to handle the interface after API returns the data if slowness happens on printing the content could indicate an extension or browser is causing the issue, it is rare to happen and can be tested by using incognito mode.

We shared this thread with our developers, and hope we can improve it soon.
    Best Regards
