[The Hub] Bitcoin Payment Gateway and Stripe

Bitcoin payment should be inclusive.. Setting up stripe and not all clients even want to purchase with credit card..

    Thank you for this suggestion. As of now, we probably won’t be adding any other payment gateways soon but we may be doing that at some point in future.

    Which ones would be that, it mostly depends on the requests from Members like you so let’s keep this ticket open and see if other Members will also support this idea.

    I too accept crypto and agree it would be pretty great of WPMUDev (and subsequently Stripe) supported crypto. Since they do not, I use coinbase commerce. They allow you to create payment links, which can of course be used with buttons on your website.

    This does not allow for the automatic account provisioning but it works. Here is the basic sales flow my customers/we take.
    Customer lands on our page, chooses their plan, and selects the “Pay With Crypto” button at checkout. This takes them through the checkout process via Coinbase allowing them to select from the supported cryptocurrencies. After checkout, we get an email notifying us of payment. We manually create the account using the details submitted by the customer during checkout. Finally, we trigger the welcome email with details for the customer to access their account.

    Coinbase is not the only option and I know some folks do not like Coinbase. A few other options include Bitpay, Crypto.com, and (if you must) PayPal.

    Thank you for sharing the information. I’m glad to hear that Stripe is planning to support crypto payments, which could potentially expedite our adoption of this feature at some point. However, please note that this doesn’t mean it will be coming very soon to the WPMU DEV platform.

    The payment methods at WPMU DEV depend on many factors, and we appreciate your idea and the suggested checkout flow. Our developers are continuously working on enhancing the product and platform.

    We may consider this feature in the future, but I cannot provide an estimated timeline for its implementation. We appreciate your patience and suggestions.

    As Adam mentioned, let’s keep this ticket open and see if other members will also support this idea.
