[The Hub] More ‘Sort’ options for list of ‘My Sites’ in The Hub

1

More sort features for ‘My Sites’ main list in The Hub.
At present all you can sort by is A-Z. When you have 50+ sites in the hub you need more options like:
– Sort by color tag (most urgently needed to sort large number of sites)
– Sort by module urgency level (ie. any modules showing as Red for urgent attention)
– Sort by plugin update amount or (ie. how many updates required for a site so i can see which sites need need most attention)

    Hi ronnen ,

I do understand the feature request listed would be useful once implemented, however, could you please explain further about the following feature? So that we could raise this further with our Hub team?

Sort by color tag (most urgently needed to sort large number of sites)

You should be able to sort based on the color labels added, could we know what exact feature you meant by the above?

Does the above cover your requirements for #1? Looking forward to your response.

    Kind Regards,

The Colors are in Filters, but they are not options in Sort.
(additionally, there is also no Filter for color=None)

We have a lot of sites and more added every week. When a new site is added it is ‘Grey’.
We manage what needs to be done by using different colors. Some are Grey (newly added), some are Green (fully setup in WPMU) and there are other statuses in-between marked by different colors.

At the moment, all the colors are mixed through-out the list of sites as they are still sorted by A-Z.
I want to see all sites on 1 page but grouped (sorted) by color, so i can see all the greens and scroll down to see all the yellow, then all the red, etc

Sounds like you are referring to these colors:

I’m afraid, there isn’t any way to filter based on those colors, however, I’ll make sure to pass all these requests to our team’s attention so that they can check the possibility of implementing more features down the roadmap.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin

    No, not at all.
I am not referring to those colors. I am referring to what you title “labels”

Firstly, the filters do not have the label=none for the Grey color.
Secondly, these are all filter options and should be also available in sort… there are no options in sort. Why is there only A-Z in Sort?
I hope that is now clear?

    Hi ronnen ,

Firstly, the filters do not have the label=none for the Grey color.

Thanks for clarifying. I do see the label as none having a grey color and will bring this further to our team’s attention regarding the expected behaviour and if that needs improvements.

Secondly, these are all filter options and should be also available in sort… there are no options in sort. Why is there only A-Z in Sort?

The Filter feature helps with listing out sites according to the conditions and the Sort feature helps with listing the sites in ascending or descending order based on these filters.

If you check the above example, I have manually assigned Labels to these sites and used the Filter to list out these sites by selecting multiple labels. The Sort feature will then list the sites based on the Label name.

The color for the labels that get assigned to the sites are random by default, and they need to be manually labelled with color according to the existing labels you have created.

Sorry if I’m repeating myself, however, I’m a bit lost with your feature request for the above feature since it appears the default workflow does not fit your requirements.

Could you please check whats missed with the workflow pointed out above in the screenshot and whether it fits your workflow once you manually add the labels to these websites?

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin

In addition it would also be helpful to be able to create filter and sorting presets so you can quickly create shortcuts to apply certain sorting options with a single click.

Some more options that could be added:
    – sort by security issues
    – sort by performance issues
    – sort by backup issues
    – sort sites that are detected as being down

    Hi Julian ,

Thank you for sharing these additional suggestions in relation with the sorting functionality.

We checked, we actually do have an existing feature request that is the same with what you have described. We have added your request as an additional vote to that and have also included your thoughts to the existing request to let the team know. Kindly note however that we don’t have any specific information available when it comes to ETA but lets hope this gets considered and be implemented soon.

Again, we appreciate all of these suggestions as we aim to further improve our plugins and services.

    Best Regards,
    Jasper

    Hi ronnen ,

Sort by plugin update amount or (ie. how many updates required for a site so i can see which sites need need most attention)

Regarding the above workflow, it should be possible if you go to the Hub > Updates tab as shown in the following screenshot:
[attachments are only viewable by logged-in members]

Where the websites will be listed based on the order of total number of pending updates from high to low.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin
