[Defender Pro] Enforce https rewrites

3

The plugin Really Simple Security used to be called Really Simple SSL. All it does is add entries to the .htaccess file to ensure https usage. They have recently exapnded and now offer various security features that compete with Defender. I would love to be able to have this feature in Defender so that I don’t need that plugin anymore. They create notifications on the free version for security features that is already patched by Defender and it is annoying and it confuses the admin users that think Defender is deficient.

    Hi Willem

Trust you are doing well today.

We already have the plan to add a feature to enforce SSL for the entire website using Defender Pro, and we enforce SSL by default in our hosting but if the site is not hosted here, you may need to implement custom rules.

The rules need to be implemented in the hosting configuration however if your hosting engine supports .htaccess file some plugins can automatically apply them otherwise you will need to contact your hosting provider to implement the rule in the server configuration, therefore a plugin will not be able to enforce SSL automatically all the time.

I’m afraid I can not give you an exact ETA about when this feature will be added, I suggest subscribing to our roadmap to get notified about new updates:

    Kind Regards,
