I’d like to submit a feature request that would significantly enhance the flexibility and automation capabilities of The Hub, particularly for freelancers, agencies, and developers managing recurring client relationships.
Please consider adding native integrations or webhook support that allows automatic syncing of new or updated clients from The Hub’s billing system to external email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or even generic webhook endpoints (Zapier, Make, Pabbly, etc.)
Use case:
Many of us use The Hub billing to onboard and manage clients for hosting, care plans, and subscriptions. However, we also run separate email marketing flows for:
– Onboarding welcome emails
– Newsletters or service updates
– Review or testimonial requests
– Account health check reminders
– Upselling or cross-selling services
Currently, there is no native way to connect The Hub’s billing or client activity to these email flows. This forces us to:
– Manually copy client data into email lists
– Set up workaround automations through Stripe (indirect and incomplete)
– Or skip proper onboarding sequences entirely, missing opportunities
Suggested solutions:
Option 1: Add webhook triggers for key events in The Hub, such as:
– New customer created
– New payment/subscription
– Subscription cancelled
– Plan change
– etc.
Option 2: Allow native integrations with common tools (MailerLite, Mailchimp, ConvertKit)
Option 3: Add a “Zapier” or “Make” app for The Hub billing & client management
Option 4: Expose basic client data via API for 3rd party automation tools
Benefits for WPMU DEV and your users:
– Stronger adoption of The Hub as a central client platform
– Reduced friction for setting up full client lifecycle automations
– Increased customer satisfaction through smoother onboarding
– Makes The Hub more competitive
Even basic webhook support would already open the door to a world of automation, without requiring deep integrations or interface changes. Happy to clarify further or give feedback if needed.
