[Hosting] Upping the PHP Memory Limits

6

I think upping the PHP memory limits a touch would be no harm. Especially on Silver Plus and Max.

The jump to your next hosting level is way too much and not at all competitive with other companies.
I am at the point where I am going to have to switch sites away from WPMUDEV which is a real shame.

I think the ever growing size and capabilities of things like Elementor mean small PHP memory is a deal breaker for smaller sites on smaller budgets.

Just something I wanted to note and see are there any plans in the future to up the PHP memory limit

Pro (Cornerstone page builder) is running very smoothly on the hosting here. No memory limit issues there

Having said that, some flexibility to increase the PHP memory limits if required would be nice for edge cases and plugins/scripts that are heavier.

    Hi Tom Malone

I hope you are doing well,

Thank you for the feedback, definitely some plugins will require more memory however it doesn’t mean they wouldn’t work on less. We tried to balance the server resource as much as possible to fit most of the plugins but it will also depends on the pack of used ones, for example Woo along to Elementor will need to have more available resources, but only Elementor can run on Bronze or Silver, though I understand it depends on my variables.

That said, I agree we can always review the server settings and I forwarded this request to our hosting developers.

    Hi Patrick,
Thanks for the response. Even the ability to up it on particular sites akin to the options available on cPanel would be great.
As I said also, the jump between Silver and Gold is huge also, which is a real deterrent when it comes to upgrading hosting.
Even a woocommerce specific tailored hosting package at a more affordable price could work?

Anyway, thank you again for your response. Appreciate it.

Thanks for the suggestions. The team will be checking into the possibilities, but please note that this requires a lot of discussions as well as tests, because, as mentioned by Patrick, our servers are configured to work properly with the limitations set.
