Defender wish list….

2

Hi guys.

IP-Adress management in Defender – wishlist. :rocket: :pray_tone1:

One thing that would be very nice and useful to have in the Defender firewall plugin (and it something we at least are missing) is the ability to add comments next to a white listed IP-address both in the globally synced and the local version.

As it is now its virtually impossible to keep track of what the added IP-addresses actually are and why you allowed them.

Allowing users/admins to add a comment next to an IP-address which as been whitelisted would make it much easier with management of Defender + plus more secure because that way you will not forget to remove a IP- that only should have temporary listed – but time made you forget it..

Thanks in advance
Kind regards
PowerQuest

    Hello PowerQuest

Thanks for your feedback. Indeed, it could be really useful if there is a way to add comments in the IP lists across Defender to know why certain IP was added there.

I’m sharing this feedback to our development team so they can consider implement it in the near future. That being said, I can’t provide an ETA of when it will be implemented.

    Kind regards,
    Jair.

I just want to jump in and agree with this request — having the ability to add comments next to whitelisted IPs in Defender would be extremely helpful. Like PowerQuest mentioned, once you start managing multiple sites and a growing list of IPs, it quickly becomes hard to remember why each one was added. Being able to tag them with a note (e.g., “client office,” “temporary dev access,” etc.) would make management much clearer and reduce the risk of leaving temporary IPs in place longer than needed. Definitely a small feature that could have a big impact on security and workflow.

And thanks, Jair Jaramillo , for sharing this feedback with the development team — really appreciate you keeping this on their radar.
