[The Hub Client] FluentCRM as the Missing Link for a Truly Unified WPMU DEV Ecosystem

1

After years of working deeply with WordPress across all major hosting providers, ecosystems, and enterprise-grade plugins, one thing has become very clear to me: The Fluent ecosystem (FluentCRM, Fluent Forms, Fluent Support, Fluent Boards, FluentCart, etc.) is currently operating on a completely different level.

What makes Fluent especially powerful is not just the quality of the individual products—but the loyalty and gravity of its user base. Fluent users don’t just use one plugin. They adopt the entire ecosystem and actively seek out tools that integrate seamlessly with it.

This is where I believe a strategic integration between WPMU DEV Reseller / Client Management and FluentCRM would unlock an entirely new level of growth for both platforms.

1. The Current UX Problem with Reseller Accounts

Right now, when a reseller sells a site:

The end client gets:

One account on their WordPress site

A separate, disconnected WPMU DEV account

From a UX standpoint, this is extremely difficult to justify in 2025. Clients don’t understand why there are two dashboards, two credentials, and no unified communication, billing, automation, or lifecycle tracking.

This is exactly the problem FluentCRM was built to solve.

2. FluentCRM as the Universal Automation & Identity Layer

FluentCRM is not “just a CRM.” It is rapidly becoming the standard automation layer of WordPress:

It already integrates with:

Payment gateways

Membership systems

Form builders

Ecommerce systems

Course platforms

Support desks

Fluent users actively choose tools based on Fluent compatibility

If WPMU DEV Reseller and hosting systems were deeply integrated with FluentCRM:

Every client account could be synced automatically

Every subscription state could be automated

Onboarding, renewals, upgrades, suspensions, and communication would be fully synchronized

The WordPress dashboard becomes the control center—no external account confusion

This alone would instantly elevate WPMU DEV’s UX to a true 5-star SaaS experience.

3. The Domino Effect: Payments, Ecommerce, and Global Expansion

Here’s where things become truly strategic:

If WPMU DEV integrates with FluentCRM, then you automatically unlock:

FluentCart

SureCart

WooCommerce (already supported)

And virtually any payment processor on the planet

Because Fluent already bridges:

Stripe, PayPal, Paddle, Mollie, local EU gateways, subscriptions, trials, taxes, etc.

In other words:

You don’t just gain one integration—you gain the entire global payment infrastructure of WordPress instantly.

4. Market Impact: A Real WAAS Killer

WPMU DEV is already one of the strongest ecosystems in WordPress:

Hosting

Performance

Security

Agency tools

Multisite power

Client management

But with native FluentCRM integration, WPMU DEV becomes something else entirely:

A true WordPress-based SaaS platform

A fully automated Web-as-a-Service engine

A unified CRM + billing + automation + hosting layer

At that point, platforms like:

InstaWP

And most external WAAS builders

…become functionally obsolete.

5. Why This Is a Two-Way Growth Engine

This is not a one-sided proposal.

If WPMU DEV integrates with FluentCRM:

A massive portion of the Fluent user base will actively migrate to WPMU DEV

Agencies will standardize on WPMU DEV + Fluent stack

Plugin developers will prioritize WPMU DEV compatibility

The integration becomes a gravitational center for the WordPress ecosystem

It’s one of those rare cases where 1 + 1 = 10.

Final Thought

WPMU DEV already has:

The infrastructure

The plugins

The hosting

The agency tools

FluentCRM already has:

The automation layer

The ecommerce hooks

The global payment reach

The developer momentum

What’s missing is the bridge between them.

If that bridge is built properly, it would become one of the most powerful integrations ever created in the WordPress ecosystem.

    Hi Rosvaldas Nudas ,

Trust you are doing well, and thank you for reaching out to us.

We have plans to bring CRM features into the Hub experience. However, I’ll pass this suggestion to our development team so they can look into it in more detail. We’ll share more information here as soon as we have updates from the team.

    Best Regards,
    Nebu John

I didn’t mention FluentCommunity in my original post. FluentCommunity is completely next-level. Their stack is Vue js so its not even reloading pages and opening instantly, with possibilities to integrate natively into their SPA for any 3rd party plugin. This is exactly what I’m doing. To put it short – there is nothing like that in the world, not to mention in WP world. And then FluentCRM comes on top. Literally, it’s the best option for WPMUDEV, not joking.

I don’t think they can even implement FluentCRM at the Hub level so that we all can use our own instance of it?

And honestly I hope more time and effort is spent on making the billing system more usable first. It lacks features and flexibility and is developing rather slowly as it is…

      Hi Julian ,

We strive our best to include features that are recommended largely by our members. With that said, I am thankful for your active participation.

I can understand it can be a bit time-consuming to wait for new improvements. However, considering the process to ensure quality and good functionality, the process we follow, extensive research, planning, execution, and testing, is important as it affects all the users at large.

I would like to assure you that your feedback has been communicated to our Dev team for further review. Thank you for your understanding.

      Best Regards,
      Nebu John
