Have you ever visited a site and wondered what WordPress theme it’s using?<\/p>\n

You could easily\u00a0take a peek at the source code or look at the theme’s stylesheet, but not everyone knows how to do that.<\/p>\n

In today’s Weekend WordPress Project, I’ll show you the quickest way to find out\u00a0a site’s theme.<\/p>\n

What WordPress Theme Is That?<\/h2>\n

What WordPress Theme is That?<\/a>\u00a0is a site where you can simply enter an URL and it will tell you the name of the theme a site is using.<\/p>\n

It will also tell you which plugins the site is using, too.<\/p>\n

The site pulls the information from the site’s active theme’s stylesheet.<\/p>\n

For example, let’s take a look at WP Tavern<\/a>, a WordPress news site.<\/p>\n

A quick search reveals WP Tavern is using its own theme, “WP Tavern 2021” which is on GitHub.<\/p>\n

Now, a search for the WPMU DEV website reveals\u00a0we don’t use a publicly available theme on our blog. Instead, we have a customized theme we’ve created especially for our site.<\/p>\n

So what about WordPress.org?<\/p>\n

How Do I Find Out What CMS a Site is Using?<\/h2>\n

If you’re not sure if a site is even using WordPress, the quickest way to find out is to use an add-on for your browser that will tell you which CMS is powering a particular website.<\/p>\n
