Want To Add Additional Widgets To Your TwentyTen Child Theme?<\/h2>\n
Technically this process is pretty much the same for any other WordPress theme.<\/p>\n
When working with a TwentyTen (or any other) child theme, you’ll want to make your additions to files within the child theme directory.<\/p>\n
First, you must register another widget area in your child theme’s functions.php<\/em> file:<\/strong><\/p>\n

- Replace the ‘Your Widget Area’<\/strong> with a name for the area you are creating.<\/li>\n
- Replace ‘your_child_theme’<\/strong> with the name of your child theme.<\/li>\n
- Give your widget area an ID<\/strong> to use within your theme.<\/li>\n
- Give your widget area a description to replace ‘The primary widget area’<\/strong> and add the name of your child theme again.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Those are the only areas you should need to replace in the code above.<\/p>\n
Now, here’s the bit you’ll need in order to place your newly registered widget area in your child theme:<\/strong><\/p>\n
