Ability to update custom plugins on the Hub by uploading the updated ZIP only to the sites that hav

0

I’ll like the opportunity to be able to be able to update a plugin on some sites that have the plugin installed already. So for instance, if I have over a hundred sites and about 50 of my sites use a custom plugin, then it should be possible to update that plugin on those 50 sites alone even if I don’t remember the sites. The current workaround on the Hub shows that I should be able to know the sites and start ticking them in the Hub.

    Hi Shreef Entsar ,

Hope this message finds you well.

Thank you for sharing these insights.

We do understand having it on multiple sites would make it impossible to always remember which specific sites have the custom plugin. However, in such case, it is actually possible to know and have a list of all the sites that have any specific plugin installed, active or inactive, on the Hub end as long as the site is connected. You can check this on the Hub by navigating to Plugins > Manage Existing then filter for the specific plugin you want to check. See below example of such.

On above screen, you can then either hover on the number corresponding to sites the plugin is currently installed like below, which allows you to see the site list already or further clicking “Manage”, which will open a page showing the same site list.

You can then use this list as a reference when you update or install the plugin directly from the Hub end by uploading the plugin file under Hub > Plugins > Add New and selecting the sites from the list when you click on Add to site, like in the below example.

Based on your specific concern in the previous communication, can you check if this fits your requirement? (Kindly note we still highly recommend securing a recent backup of the sites before doing such action just to be on the safe side.) If not, we do understand you would want some kind of easier process here. With this, it would be helpful if you could further discuss in detail the specific requirement, like any specific idea how you would want this to fit on the current available functionality, etc., so we can further relay this to our Hub team to possibly help with their discussion.

    Looking forward hearing from you.

    Best Regards,
    Jasper
