Do you have or will you have a plug in for ADA compliance?

    Hello Christina !

Hope you’re having a great day!

We don’t have a plugin that would help with or test for ADA compliance at this moment.

I’m not that familiar with the specific rules and I’m not sure if there are any existing services we could use to run tests similarly to how we can use Google Insights to help with site’s optimisation and SEO for example. But, as this is an interesting question, I’ve shared your ticket with our leaders to review and request their feedback

As an additional note, we do care about everyone being able to use our plugins as much as it’s possible. Our plugins include accessibility options on the interface side, to make it easier for site administrators to use. You can generally find the options in each plugin’s menus, they are often available in the settings.

    Kind regards,
    Pawel

Thank you, I have added 2 plugins, Accessibility Tools & Alt Text Finder and The Accessibility Toolbar by Online ADA, as Maria is a real estate agent the Fair Housing Act has ADA guidelines that the website must be compliant for the visually impaired. I was hoping you had a plugin as I like to keep things in one place. This may be something for you all to look at for the future.

Currently the California legislature is trying to get a bill passed that would fine the site owner USD$4,000.00 for each person that reports an ADA violation as well as fining the developer USD$4,000.00 for each of the same occurrences. It has not yet passed but will probably get passed this year or next. When passed, if history in an indicator, ADA “terrorists” will be scouring the internet for any website that is not ADA compliant and virtually put them out of business.

So, this is becoming a very hot issue and I agree with Christian above in that I prefer to keep my plugins with WPMU if at all possibe.
