Add new functionality to SmartCrawl

Hi,

please add new functionality to SmartCrawl:

– hide “author” and “archive” pages

Pages like /author/mylogin/ and /2018/08/ are not necessary for lots of websites and it can negatively affect SEO and crawling.

I think plugins like Yoast SEO can do it.

Hide author pages can https://wordpress.org/plugins/disable-author-pages/

But why install more and more plugins when you could offer it “in one” :slight_smile:

    This could be a nice addition indeed! I've already created a feature request task for our developers. :slight_smile:

    Please keep in mind, that meanwhile you can enable the no-index and no-follow options for these two, via

    SmartCrawl -> Title&Meta -> Archives

    [attachments are only viewable by logged-in members]

    (that's for Author archives, the same can set for Date archives in the same page)

    Finally, you can use any exact redirections you may want, from SmartCrawl -> Advanced Tools -> URL Redirection.

    And by the way… hide author archives completely (404, 301 etc.) can be also great for Defender plugin – because this way you can simply find login of someone in url of his author page – /author/login/ :slight_smile:
