Admin Message — Make a change?

Hi,

On WordPress.com – they have the ability to send users a message warning them. Like example heres the message:

Warning: We have a concern about your blog. Please contact as soon as possible to resolve this issue and to re-enable posting.

Is it possible for this Admin Message plugin to be nipped and changed allowing you to send it to specific users, or to specific blogs?

That would be great/

Thanks,

~Chewy

    Hiya,

That would require a good bit of extra code to pull off. Actually I don’t think it’s something that should be added to this plugin at all.

Does anyone else have an opinion on this one? Do you guys think a plugin such as the one described by Chewey is needed?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

Is this still of interest? I have a client who asked for this.

I’ll be honest. I don’t see this as being too hard. (No offense, Andrew) It’s just an extra field during blog creation followed by adding in a hook like the admin message, just with a static “You’re in heaps of trouble” message. (edit: Along with a check to see if the field was present and, if not, add in an option. For preexisting blogs.)

The only issue I would see would be if one wanted to include a link to your support system to point your enduser towards. That would be different for every system. Have to admit that I would cheat and allow for hardcoding. If found, give out put including link. If not, give a generic message.

    Hiya,

I’ll be honest as well, I’m not interested in adding that feature to this plugin. I can look into making an “admin warnings” plugin if a few people would be interested but that feature isn’t getting added to the admin message plugin. The purpose of the admin message plugin is just to place a message in the admin panel.

    Thanks,

    Andrew
