Affiliates integration with Floating Social

It would be if Affiliates integrated with Floating Social. Here is how I would like to see it work:

If a member of a network is logged in and travels to any site across the network, Floating Social (activated across all sites of the network) would be aware of their affiliate ID. Sharing via any social means would quietly include their affiliate info.

    Hiya!

    Hmm not sure this is really possible. That would require the affiliate plugin to know what a user does on their Facebook/Twitter/Google/etc profile, which it can’t without authorisation.

    Floating social doesn’t even know if users actually click the like/share/whatever buttons.

    Thanks again for the quick reply. I am not a developer, so sometimes things seem easy that really aren’t :slight_smile:.

    Just to make sure my request is clear though, let me clarify:

    – Floating social may not be aware of what happens on the users social media site, but it must be aware of what URL it is sending over there.

    – So if a visitor is looking at a particular post on some site on the network http://foodblog.blognetwork.com/desserts/lemon-pie-recipe; Floating Social has to know that URL so the visitor can simply share it while looking at that post

    – If that visitor happens to be a *member* (let’s just say all members are assigned an affiliate ID for now), then I just want floating social to append that URL so it would be http://foodblog.blognetwork.com/desserts/lemon-pie-recipe/?ref=member-15 or whatever.

    So any member, visiting any site in the network, would have no extra work to do to add their affiliate ID to a link they choose to share.

    Does that change the feasibility?

    Got it. Thanks much for the continued dialog. Last question (I promise!). Are you saying this is something only WPMU Dev could do because it’s at the core of floating social, or would it be feasible for me to have a developer write some code or build a “connector” plugin to pull this off?
