Black listed hosting IP

My website is currently showing as black listed by barracudacentral.org. Is it possible to have this investigated? I don’t use SMTP for email, and believe this is because it is a shared ip.

    Hello there nafets,

hope you’re doing well today!

This can be happening because the same server IP could have been used for malicious stuff in the past. In order to surpass that you should:

    – create a new backup (if needed) in our Hosting platform

    – delete the website

    – create a new site using the same name and region/location as current site

    – new site creation should bring you a fresh IP address

    – as long as you use the same site name and physical location, all backups from the previous container will still be listed there, so you just have to restore the latest one

Hope that clarifies things better! Please do let us know if you need further assistance on this.

    Thank you,

    Dimitris

    A sidenote on this:

As you’ve already added a custom domain, in order to experience no downtime, you should be using a CNAME record in your DNS settings, rather than A & AAA records.

If you’re using A & AAA records, then obviously these should be updated in the nameservers with the new IP addresses.

    Thank you,

    Dimitris

You can also look up your info on barracuda networks to find out why it’s being blocked.

I had an issue like this a while back. Turned out that the issue was unrelated to the current time, as it was reported and posted from a long while before we found the block.

Barracuda isn’t always so proactive on removing/updating their block lists. And also, if I’m not mistaken, they also have the offering to their clients were they can block at the office level. So, one office using barracuda might be blocking you, but not the entire barracuda network.

In my case, if I recall, my client was blocked because of their website being scanned for “questionable adult content”, which was absolutely false! It wasn’t about spam or being on an RBL, it was some type of scan they performed on my client’s website. Totally bonkers!?!
