[Branda Pro] Disable Admin Notices

4

Can Branda has a setting to let me disable admin notices, especially those who are not following developing guidelines and don’t allow you to remove, disable them. In Branda it would fit under Admin Area or Utilities. Please consider adding this simple tool. Some plugins have admin notices that need to be hidden forever. With a simple tool would this make my admin so much nicer.

    Hi Django

    I hope you’re well today!

To make sure that we’re on the same side: you don’t mean any notifications from Branda but rather than this – Branda being able to close/hide notices issued by other plugins, correct?

That surely will be possible (technically speaking) with notifications that are “following WP standards”, so to say, but I’m wondering about closing various notices that might possibly be issued in a completely custom way – it would be difficult to detect/automatically “parse” them to hide them.

Or do you mean notices that are “standard” (“WP way” but just don’t include “dismiss” or “hide” or “close” options?

    Best regards,
    Adam

Actually I have one plugin, not wpmudev related, that keep upselling with admin messages that you can not close. I have a workaround with a plugin, https://wordpress.org/plugins/disable-admin-notices/ But with the latest release I start to see premium upgrades that are bloating and not needed for me. So, although the plugin is still hiding any admin notice, the issue is that probably sooner than later conflicts and double options, lookalike Branda features, will be the issue in my network.

    Hi Django

    Got it, thanks for explanation!

We actually already have such feature on a “to do” list for future, I just wanted first to make sure that it’d be the same case

I don’t have an ETA as it’s so far a “planned” feature but it should be added to plugin in future. I hope that’s a good news

    Best regards,
    Adam

    Hi Dominik

Yes, it’s quite some time already but I still don’t have ETA. A ticket like this here is a feature request/suggestion but not a “roadmap” and even if I was able to confirm earlier that we do have such feature already on a “to do” list – it basically means that it’s something that we plan to add to plugin “at some point in future”.

I understand that this is long waiting already but while the planned/requested features’ list is quite long, there’s a lot of factors involved that affect if and when a given feature is added, starting from… how much the feature is requests.

This one didn’t really gain much popularity so far. As you can see since Jul 2020 there wasn’t any updates in this thread and not many Members asked for such feature. Our Projects’ Managers and developers do need to provide sort of “sustainable development”, compatibility and various fixes for all our plugins and services so there’s also some “prioritization” of tasks and that’s something that I cannot change (it’s not in my powers).

That being said, this feature request is still open and “on the table” so the more support it gets from Members, the bigger the chance it will get implemented sooner but I don’t have an ETA.

We’ll surely be announcing it on our roadmap for the plugin when it’s about to come:

What is the latest on this? I don’t want subscribers to be able to see the admin notices which are not for them – surely this should be a standard and simple option for something which allows you to customise the admin?

      Hi Stuart

I don’t have any news yet, I’m afraid.

Whether the given feature is simple to implement or not, isn’t really the only and most important decisive factor here. There’s a lot of other tasks on the list as well – bug fixes, compatibility and features improvements and other features – and Branda team must prioritize some of those things to provide compatibility and safety and also implement features that are more requested sooner.

I have already let them know that this request is still “on the table” but I can’t predict when it will be implemented, I’m afraid.

      Kind regards,
      Adam

    Hi Savvas ,

    Thank you for your response.

I regret to inform you that I have not received any updates from the Branda team regarding the implementation of the requested feature. It appears that they are currently occupied with more complex and high-priority tasks for the plugin, which has caused a delay in implementing this particular feature.

Unfortunately, I do not have an estimated time of arrival (ETA) for when this feature will be available.

However, I have pinged them about your message.

    Best Regards,
    Vikram Singh

This is a great idea for addition to Branda. I have a multisite network where I want to see these notifications if I am Super Admin but my subsite Admins do not need to see them at all – especially as they are clients as opposed to co-managers. Please add this functionality.

Is this still something that is being considered for Branda? Seeing as it’s been more than 4 years since the first post, I assume it’s not something you are currently working on.
I believe many people are using the “Disable Admin Notices Individually” plugin, but that hasn’t seen any updates in the last 8 months, and has a known vulnerability to boot.
Maybe instead of counting on people actually finding this thread for you to gauge interest, you could ask your clients if they’d be interested in this and other functions?

    Hi Lars ,

    Thank you for your response.

I regret to inform you that the requested feature has not been implemented yet. It seems the team is currently focused on more complex and high-priority tasks for the plugin, which has delayed the development of this particular feature.

At this time, I do not have an estimated time of arrival (ETA) for when the feature will be available. However, I’ve brought your message to their attention to ensure it remains on their radar.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Hello Edoardo Julian

I’m afraid we don’t have any news about this feature yet. At this moment our development team is prioritizing on different fixes and improvements from the rest of our plugins, which you can check in the Roadmap. But be assured that we share your concerns, feature requests and feedback to our development team; as we are still looking forward improving other plugins like Branda and Hustle.

    Kind regards,
    Jair.
