Buddy dress themes

I wanted to know if anyone could help me with buddydress themes? I have tried to install these themes into wpmu using buddypress and they just keep coming up blank. I have installed them as per the information from the theme site. I have also asked this question there. Thanks for any help.

    do you mean the buddypress theme from buddydress theme site?

    well it is lil out of the scope for other buddypress theme support beside

    theme from wpmudev:slight_smile:

    anyway…the problem occur in many older buddypress theme..it is cause

    by the function bp_show_home_blog() that are deprecated i think…

    check the attachment, rename the the file.txt to file.php and check, i commented out the bp_show_home_blog() and used a new fucntions for new bp 1.1+

    try the same method on your theme function.php and it should wipe out the

    blank page:slight_smile:

    Hi Thanks for the info. but my issue is installing themes that have a "home" and a "member" theme. I have installed this darkpress them but it keeps showing blank in the themes folder and on the site. Do I need to adjust code here? Also the instructions say i am suppose to turn the theme on in buddypress. Where do i do that? Thanks.

    if you’re using the new bp 1.1+

    you can still use the older theme strucutre…

    home theme should go to /wp-content/themes

    member theme should go to /wp-content/bp-themes

    if there’s no bp-themes folder, you can create one:slight_smile:

    after that, you need to activate the theme in site-admin > themes

    also in buddypress > general setting, save the setting with your choice

    member theme and finally go to appearence > theme and activate your

    theme.

    and finally follow the functions edit above if you get a blank site once activated

    the theme in appearence.

    Disable BuddyPress to WordPress profile syncing?: Yes No

    Hide admin bar for logged out users?: Yes No

    Disable avatar uploads? (Gravatars will still work): Yes No

    Allow non-friends to post on profile wires?: Yes No

    Disable user account deletion?: Yes No

    Disable global forum directory?: Yes No

    Default User Avatar For users without a custom avatar of their own, you can either display a generic logo or a generated one based on their email address

    Identicon (Generated)

    Wavatar (Generated)

    MonsterID (Generated)

    Hey Richie,

    I tried to change the functions.php code but all that came up was the language. I have attached the file can you show me where i need to place The code in the file. I placed it as you showed me and then uploaded it but only got the computer language on the page not the actual theme. Not sure what I am doing wrong here. Appriciate the help.

    Hi Richie,

    I changed the page you sent me to have a .php extention and it came out looking like the the attachment. The page showed up finally but not correctly as you can see. Is there anything else i can do to correct this?

    Also the bp-themes is in the following folde:

    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes

    Let me know if this is correct.
