Buddypress Suggestion: Home dir = profile page

I’ve never used BuddyPress but I’ve been thinking about it for a long time and I’ve been reading up.

Seems like username.site.com directs a visitor to the users blog. I would like a plugin that changes that so that the visitor is directed to the users profile page. I mean the focus in buddypress isn’t on the blog anyway.

    Unfortunately buddypress is meant to focus on the blog and the users. It’s supposed to bring the users from the blogs together.

    Also the username.sitename.com being blog is a wordpress mu feature. You would have to do a lot of customizing to work around it.

    Actually that’s the way it used to be when it was first started. The default url dropped folks into the profile page while the blog sat in a /blog subdirectory under the url. There was a fairly big outcry to get things more centered around the blog instead of the profile page. At least from the wpmu community.

    May want to bring this up on the buddypress forums as there may be a work around.
