Can the BuddyPress Default Theme be changed?

I want to lock bloggers in to the same theme that I build the site with … . can I replace the b-default theme with another BuddyPress compatible theme?

@Kirk Ward: just a point here but you are aware that buddypress in most cases doesn’t work like other plugins and is only usually activated on the main site? If you turn on buddypress for all literally all your blogs / users will have their own non-linking communities – is this what you are after (if it is apologies)?

    Thanks Aaron!

users will have their own non-linking communities

@ Tammie – I’m not sure what that means. I thunk that BP was to be activated “sitewide” and did so. I do believe that I do no t have a good understanding of what BP does. I didn’t understand what were written on the BP site. Is there a simple explanation floating around somewheres?

@KirkWard: Basically what you should have is one buddypress install and the plugin NOT be active on the member blogs they just all link to it. This attachment may describe the look more of how it should be. If you have it active as a plugin (it is just a plugin even though it is much more in practice) then just like any plugin it will work solitary just to that blog. So, you infact can end up with lots of mini communities – for most cases this is not what you want I assume.

@KirkWard: Cool. You can of course have each with it’s own buddypress it’s just usual you’d have one core place and then each would have just a blog. That’s of course unless you’re not just running a community but running something where you actually want to offer the buddypress feature as an additional charge. I think while you get to know it though just one install would be good – nothing as nightmarish as having to support something you are getting to grips with yourself
