Can you help restore a snapshot in my multisite?

@ashok

I am trying to restore a snapshot on my multisite.

1. @ashok helped me with the first one… this is what he said..

I have restored in http://english.ontheredbox.com/

You can’t import into http://en.ontheredbox.com/ subsite, you already have a subdomain with http://en.ontheredbox.com/. You need to delete/rename that subdomain first, then you can rename “english” subsite to “en”.

Please do the exactly same as for other site.

2. So I deleted the subdomain from my host (i think that was pretty dumb of me)

3. Thankfully I do have the snapshot file on my multisite.

4. But when i go to restore, i get an error message.

    Hey @jacob,

    The Site URL shouldn’t be blank like that for the site to restore to, I’d like to have a deeper look at this here. Could you please send in the following for your site via our secure contact form:

    – Mark to my attention, the subject line should contain only: ATTN: Michael Bissett

    – Do not include anything else in the subject line, doing so may delay our response due to how email filtering works.

    – Link back to this thread

    – Include WordPress network admin access details (login address, username & password)

    – Include FTP log-in details (hostname, username & password)

    – Include any relevant URLs for your site

    On the contact form, select “I have a different question“, this ensures it comes through and gets assigned to me.

    Thanks! :slight_smile:

    Kind Regards,

    Michael

    @Michael Bissett

    Hi. I have not heard if you got my secure information…. (normally the advise me they sent it on to you)

    Also, I am locked out of my admin account on wp. not sure if that is becasue you are working on it, but I get this message…

    You attempted to access the “Ontheredbox” dashboard, but you do not currently have privileges on this site. If you believe you should be able to access the “Ontheredbox” dashboard, please contact your network administrator.

    Hey @jacob,

    I just sent you an email regarding the admin access issue, if you could reply to that, that’d be great. :slight_smile:

    In regards to the Site URL being blank, that was actually due to the fact that there wasn’t a site with an ID of 7 on the network (if there were, then Snapshot would’ve automatically chosen it as the site to restore the snapshot to).

    Given the fact that you’ve got the www. prefix enforced on your main site, you’ll want to enter the ID for the subsite in the text box that appears after you click on the “Change” button there.

    Kind Regards,

    Michael

    thanks. got the email. That stumps me about the email address. I wasnt aware I had two!

    Looks like my super admin is registered under jacob@bockspain. I think it was registered under [email protected] when it was a single WP site and when I went to a multisite, i switched it to [email protected]. How do we go about fixing that? I tried to log in to the latter with no luck. Thanks for getting back with me… jacob

    You’re welcome @jacob, glad to see you got the Snapshot restore figured out. :slight_smile:

    Just to address your other points:

    You should be able to change the email address for the user inside your Network Dashboard by going to:

    Users -> All Users

    Clicking on the “Edit” link for the user, and changing the email from there.

    Should any issues arise with doing this though, we’ll want to take it to a new thread.

    Do you recommend I dont enforce WWW?

    It can cause problems, just be advised that removing the enforcing of the www. prefix does require some changes to the database.

    If you’re wanting to do this, we’ll want to take this to a thread of it’s own as well. :slight_smile:

    Kind Regards,

    Michael
