Contribute to Upgrades

0

Hi all,

I would like to see a feature for the Upgrades plugin that will allow regular visitors to purchase credits for a specific Blog to show their support, thus replacing the “paypal donations” plea for “buy some credits and support this Blog”

I think it would benefit not only the user, but the entire Blog Network by expanding the range of potential customers buying credits

exactly, here is my example scenario:

“I am reading the blog at blogsite.com/mikey, I really enjoy the content and I want to help out and contribute, I find a link that refers me to a Credit listing, where I see that this Blog runs on credits and if I want it to keep working, they must purchase some, so I wish to buy 5 credits for them.”

Without registering, I should be able to just donate credits, not having to sign up, purchase credits for myself and then donate, the blog is not THAT good so I wouldn’t do it.

Concerning Paypal, the inability to use javascripts and provide a secure login may be an issue. Getting away from the point of the suggestion but telling folks to use the insecure Paypal button didn’t get far over at wp.com. There were quite a few folks complaining about it. That and having to find it within Paypal’s docs is a pain.

actually, this idea would not require an outside modification, but rather treating the blogs as registered users that are making purchases for themselves, I don’t know if that made any sense to you guys, but in my head it does not sound so crazy :stuck_out_tongue:

As I understand it, a user can access an area in the wp-admin and purchase credits, lets imagine now that the blog itself is a user, and the guests as they purchase, would be identified as the blog, so 10 different people pay, but it would be like only 1 user (the blog) did all the transactions (the blog just has a lot of credit cards) and that user is the one that receives all the credits.
