CoursePress Pro Breaks Jetpack Edit CSS

JetPack's Edit CSS function works perfectly on my multisite installation…except for any sites with the CoursePress Pro plugin. The Edit CSS page still shows up, but doesn't provide an area to actually make edits. As soon as CoursePress Pro is deactivated, the Edit CSS page returns to normal.

Thanks for your help!

Hey @Laura, hope you’re doing well today!

Definitely odd that it’s doing that, though I would like to ask if it’s possible to switch to another plugin to provide the ability to apply custom CSS code?

One example of this would be the Simple Custom CSS plugin:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/

If you’re set on using this Custom CSS module inside of Jetpack however, could you enable Support Access to your Multisite, so that I can have a closer look at what’s going on here?

    Please advise,

    Michael

    Hey @Laura, hope you’re weekend’s going well!

It looks like your hosting’s got some measures in place that interfere with our Support Access functionality, I get this error when I try to log in:

“You do not have permission to access this server. Data may not be posted from offsite forms.”

Could you instead send in the following please:

    – In the subject field add “Attn: Michael Bissett”

    – Link back to this thread

    – Include WordPress admin access details

    – Include FTP log-in details (just in case we need to do some deeper troubleshooting)

    – Include any relevant URLs for your site

On the contact form, select “I have a different question“, this ensures it comes through and gets assigned to me.

    As for this:

Are there other areas of Jetpack that don’t play nice with CoursePress (e.g. mosaic galleries, LaTeX, forms, ect.)?

I’m not aware of any conflicts presently, you should be fine using those.

    Kind Regards,

    Michael

I have the exact same issue on my site, though I am not running multi-site. It’s a single WordPress 4.1 installation using BuddyPress 1.5, and the JetPack Edit CSS module. I’m using the WPMU DEV “Studio” theme.

Like Laura experienced, all is well until I turn CoursePro on, which causes the very same screen display issue she shared in her screenshot above.

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this?

    Thanks a bunch!

    Sue.

@Ashok thank you so much for the quick reply and reaching out to someone to look into this. @Marko thank you so much for correcting it!

I am so sorry for the delay in my reply. I ended up in the hospital for surgery right after posting and am just able to start sitting in front of the computer again.

I would have gone to another option in the interim, except that I noticed that it also broke BuddyPress forums. With the health bump I didn't have the opportunity to reply back on this. I see that the latest version of CoursePress has corrected the JetPack CSS problem, but the BuddyPress forums breakage is still an issue. I'm attaching screenshots to show the problem. It shows everything except the actual post.

Thanks so very much for your quick responses. Your team is brilliant.

    Sue.

    Hello @Sue

I hope you are well today.

Would you please create a new thread for this issue to keep things separated? Also, the original poster can be bothered with notification email. We always welcome to create new thread when the topic title is different and this way we can deal in your own thread.

    Thank you for understanding

    Cheers
