Defender 2FA not activating properly

Defender 2FA when enabled is not setting up properly on user profiles.

    I checked the site and I can see the issue there as well. I couldn’t find a reason for this though and I’m not quite sure whether it is a bug or something specific to some aspect of site/server configuration:

    while some of my colleagues were able to replicate that on their test sites, I myself and some other colleagues we couldn’t replicate that. So that suggests that it’s related to some specific aspect of setup. We’ll need to find out what that is to see if it’s indeed a bug in plugin’s code or some conflict that requires changes on 3rd-party side.

    That said, I’ve asked our developers for further investigation and they’ll check this. We’ll update you here as soon as we get to know more from them so please keep an eye on this ticket.

    Hi Lauren,

    The issue wasn’t happening on all installations, as Adam mentioned above, our devs have a possible solution that should be included in 2.2.3 release that will hopefully come out next week.

    I have attached a patched file below so you can download it, unzip it, and put inside your wp-content/plugins/wp-defender/app/module/advanced-tools/model/ folder and overwrite the old file.
    Please note that this is not yet tested fully by our QA team, I did test it on one of the sites where we were able to replicate the issue and it worked fine, but I still strongly suggest testing this on staging site first.
