Defender | Audit log & scan not working

Hi

The subject line says it all.

I check defender everyday. Today i noticed that the audit log and scan do not work. The log just keep spinning 4ever. Pressing the scan button does nothing.

I have granted support access.

Thank you

    Hello Hamid,

    Hope you are doing good today :slight_smile:

    Thanks for enabling support staff access right away. I could not replicate this issue on your site. It is working just fine for me. I can see the audit log entries on WP Defender's dashboard as well on separate Audit Log page (see screenshot – I did not included the full page for security reasons).

    However, I can see the issue of Run Scan button doing nothing on your website when clicked.

    But I could not replicate this issue on my own test site either. It does start the scan process on my site.

    That seems to be an issue of your site/setup. Could you please first run the plugin and theme conflict test to figure out whether the issue is with WP Defender or its a conflict.

    Please follow the below easy flowchart to make a conflict test or see our getting support manual for more details.

    I avoid to do this on your live website without having FTP access and your say so.

    Take care and look forward towards your response!

    Hello Hammid,

    Hope you’re doing well!

    As we discussed in our live chat, deactivating all plugins didn’t solve the issue.

    Would you please enable WordPress debugging by putting the following to the wp-config.php file:

    define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );

    Please make sure that you insert this line BEFORE /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ in the wp-config.php file.

    Navigate to Defender > File Scanning and click on the Run Scan button. This way all errors will be saved in the debug.log file inside the /wp-content/ directory.

    Rename the debug.log file to debug.txt and attach it here. We will see if there are any errors showing up there.

    Thank you!

    Kind regards,

    Nastia

    Hamid,

    I hope you are well today.

    I checked your logs and I don’t see any fatal error there, perhaps this can be plugin conflict. Also, I don’t see the stating staff access too :smiley:. Can you please send the staging access in:

    – Mark to my attention – ATTN: Hoang Ngo

    – Link back to this thread

    – Include admin/network access

    – Include FTP

    – Include any relevant URLS for your site

    On the contact form, select “I have a different question”, this ensures it comes through and gets assigned to me.

    Thanks!!.

    Best regards,

    Hoang
