[Defender Pro] Auto-update for vulnerable plugins

0

Having the option to enable the autoinstallation of security updates for the plugins detected as vulnerable during the malware scan will be very beneficial in keeping the website secured.

    Hi David ,

In general, keeping the plugins up to date would be the recommended practice. Maintaining up-to-date plugins and themes is crucial for the health and security of any WordPress website, not only for specific plugins or themes identified with vulnerabilities.

Using the Automate feature significantly simplifies this process in general to ensure the website is up to date:

Automate allows you to schedule and manage updates for your WordPress core, plugins, and themes directly from the WPMU DEV Hub

We would be recommending the Automate feature in general rather than a feature specific within the Defender Pro side, however, I’ll make sure to bring this ticket to our team’s attention so that they are aware of your feature request.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin

    Hi David ,

I would like to update you that our Defender team do see implementing such a feature would be helpful down the roadmap and they’ll be exploring whether this feature could be considered down the roadmap.

At the moment, there isn’t any exact ETA we could provide as its still in its early phase. Thanks your feedback.

    Best Regards,
    Nithin
