[Defender Pro] Critical error with Defender PRO 2.2.2 –> Several sites

Hi great WPMU DEV team! I have discovered a critical error after the latest Defender PRO update with all our THE7 theme sites. (I need to check all other as well.) It seems the Defender PRO plugin is blocking the CF7 contact form. When I deactivate the plugin, the form can send in messages, but with enabled its just spinning.

Help! This is critical to our customers.

    I hope you’re well today!

    I tried to replicate that on my end but I wasn’t able too. It’s possible that I either had a theme in a slightly outdated version but more likely – it would also depend on some other specific settings of either one of the involved plugins or the theme itself.

    I took a look at the site that you’ve attached to this ticket but it seems that Defender is disabled there and since it seems to be a live site, I didn’t try to enable it.

    Do you have any site where I would be allowed to actually test/see that live that you could grant access to? Or may I temporarily enable Defender on this one?

    This would help me at least compare settings so I could further test it on my end.

    Hi Adam!

    Thx for the prompt and quick reply :slight_smile: Yes, I disabled the plugin and just installed iThemes Security instead for now. You can tempoarily enable it! No worries, just disable if you dont get it to work. The funny thing is that its working when I am logged in, but not when I log out.

    Please investigate further as we have several sites with The 7 theme and Defender PRO :slight_smile:

    Hi Chris,

    I saw that you had REST API blocked and it’s one of the known issues with Contact Form 7, when I disabled it on your site it started working fine.
    I have left it disabled for now and disabled Defender to leave your installation as well, but what you can do is apply a workaround mentioned in below ticket that allows usage of CF7 together with REST API Defener tweak:
