[Defender Pro] Defender Ip Geo block

I Have a qeustion, if i activate GEO block in Defender. Does it blocks Google then also if i block all except Netherlands? In IQ Geo block i can whitelist services is that also on defender?

    I hope you’re well today!

    Country blocking simply detects the origin country by IP (based on the Geo IP Database) and that’s the only reason for blocking or allowing access – the only check is country of origin. I’m not sure about Google but I think it’s not “as simple as that”. Google and other companies/services like that would use multiple IPs and most likely coming from different locations so if it happens that some of them (e.g. some crawling robot) would be coming from Netherlands, they would be blocked. But then there might be other crawler accessing from for example UK and it wouldn’t be blocked.

    You can white list specific IPs, regardless of what country they are coming from and whether they are from Google or any other service.

    Hi Adam, thanks for youre answer.

    Maybe it is smart to make it lik IQ Block Country because now i need that plugin still :slight_smile:.

    With IQ block country i am in the possibility to block all country and let services like Google, Facebook, Twitter pass the IPBlock. See attachment :slight_smile:

    With the setup i currently have with IQ Block Country i don't need captcha's or anything no spam :slight_smile:.
