[Defender Pro] Defender Scan

Defender Plugin does not seem to be able to complete a scan of my website. The scan has been running for a few days now and has only reached 43%. I have just finished a Sucuri contract (which I thought was good) but others have said your plugins are also good and better than wordfence. However if Defender Pro cannot scan the site for errors in a timely manner then there is no point in me buying it. Can you advise what might be causing the problem?

    Hi Simon,

Thank you for coming to our support forum, hope you are doing great today!

I have logged in to your site using your granted support access. On my last check the file scanning progress is 45.66% now. So it’s still running. The speed of a defender scan actually depends on many factors. It scans every theme, every plugin and each line of code. So the number of plugins and themes and how large they are also effect in the speed. And I saw you are using Divi theme which has a page builder integrated with the theme. A Divi builder site has lots of lines of codes. So all these is a factor behind of the scan speed. But what I have watched is the scan progress moved from 44% to 45% within just 20 minutes for me. I think the speed is satisfactory. You can either keep the scanning running or try scanning the site while keeping some plugins deactivated so you’ll notice the difference. I hope my explanation makes sense to you.

    Best regards,
    Ohid

    Hi Simon,

Glad to hear back from you.

As I can see the Defender scan is not stuck at anywhere so it’s good as long as it’s keep progressing whether it is scanning into malicious codes or not. After the scan is completed we can view the scan result and take necessary actions.

I would suggest you to wait until the scan ends. And while you are on your computer you can keep the file scanning tab open aside to check back the scanning progress time to time. If it stucks anywhere please let us know about this.

    Regards,
    Ohid
