Do I need MULTI-DB

Hi,

I’m using WPMU to power a system of art based portfolios/blogs. We currently have 364 accounts on our current system (bespoke) and will be migrating them to WPMU.

I wondered at what point people recommend using Multi-DB?

    Growing… we started in 2007, so were averaging about 100 a year… though at the moment we don’t run blogs so i’m not sure how the introduction of those will effect things.

    At what number would you recommend using Multi-DB and is it best to install it from scratch?

    Hiya,

    If you’re not going to have over 750-100 blogs ever then I wouldn’t bother with Multi-DB. However, if you plan on having more than that I’d install Multi-DB with 16 databases just to make managing stuff easier.

    Multi-DB can be added to an existing installation but it’s easier to start from the beginning.
