Do I still need the avatar plugin?

Is the avatar plugin here on this site needed if I am using the latest version of WPMU+Buddypress ?

    @Andrew – seems like this plugin is needed if using bbpress edublog theme. Any idea how to use the internal bp avatar setup in this theme?

    Also, how can this plugin recognize facebook avatar in bbpress (i’m using bp-FBConnect plguin which is working fine) ? thanks

    I’m not sure how you would go about using the BuddyPress avatars in a bbPress theme as I’ve never attempted it before.

    Please keep in mind that the Edublogs bbPress theme is not a custom built theme for this site. It’s just a theme that we use on Edublogs.

    I use the edublogs theme for WPMU and for bbPress. I use the default theme for buddyPress and buddyPress avatars site-wide.

    I changed from using Gravatars exclusively some time back. I believe at the moment all three are serving local avatars from buddyPress, and Gravatars if local avatars aren’t available.

    It seems to be working well.
