Domain and DNS issues

I created an A record for a week for my current domain name (drewwinkles.com) and then I switched to the CNAME [https://overbid-unsolved.wpmudev.host ](since its recommended). So far, it's not pointing correctly. (can't resolve the domain name)

My question is how long does the change take effect? Another question is, I think I have given the CNAME record enough time to change and I am still having issues with the domain name. Any suggestions to resolve this issue? Are there nameservers that I have to change?

I have resolved some of the issue. I figured out that my name servers (previous post reminded me) are thru Route 53 in AWS. I added the A record and it won’t let me add the CNAME for some reason.

When I travel to either drewwinkles.com or http://www.drewwinkles.com it loads to the index fine. When I click on one of the blog posts, it reverts to the original CNAME from WPMUdev. Any insight?

**to add –> should I revert to the original registrar’s name servers and then add the CNAME record there and see if that fixes the issue?

    Hi Drew,

DNS changes can sometimes take up to 48 hours to propagate, and they seem to be working just fine now.

I checked your settings on our end and the status was correct but you didn’t set your new domain as primary domain.

This is done from Hosting panel when you edit your site and go to Domains tab.

I have made this change for you, checked your site and a couple of posts and everything seems in order now so you should be good to go.

Please have a look yourself to confirm if everything is loading as it should

    Best regards,
