Domain mapping on pSek.com host

I just installed my first WPMU on pSek.com (their cheapest plan: Personal) and now I want to use the Donncha’s WordPress MU domain mapping plugin. However, I am struggling to make it work.

As far as I can say, I have installed the plugin correctly (including uncommenting the "sunrise" line in wp-config.php). But, I am not quite sure how to do the DNS stuff when mapping individual domains.

What nameservers do I use? Do I need to add the domain to my cpanel? Park it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    1. The domain’s nameservers should be identical with those of the WPMU site, and…

    2. The domain should be parked through my host’s cPanel.

    Correct? Is that all?

    I will try it as soon as pSek.com sorts out my account (for some reason, I cannot add parked domains).

    Based on the above, can you please clarify whether these steps are correct:

    a) PSEK allows unlimited parked domains, and that’s all that’s needed to allow domain mapping to work on the hosting side (correct?)

    b) Install Donncha’s Domain Mapping MU plugin (of course)

    c) When an MU new blog user registers domain to map, he sets DNS at the Registrar for that domain to be ns1.psek.com ns2.psek.com

    d) MU Admin manually parks that domain in PSEK through Cpanel, then adds the domain to Donncha’s plugin through the MU Admin panel

    e) Done. Domain Mapping should now function for new domain.

    Can you please clarify whether:

    1) The above steps are correct (if not, please explain)

    2) The above steps will work with any Cpanel-based hosting that allows unlimited parked domains.

    All the confusing stuff about Wildcard DNS and ServerAlias which is dependent on where you’re hosted does not come into play when using the above manual method, is that correct?

    Thanks in advance for your help, I’ve found Domain Mapping to be very confusing.

    That would depend on your plan. Please contact pSek.

    I believe that’s correct. Double check the nameservers though just to be sure.

    Yep.

    We can’t verify that the above will work with every cPanel based host. Those steps *should* work but we can’t guarantee anything.

    You shouldn’t need wildcards on mapped domains.
