Domain Mapping reporting a problem

Hello All,

Upon updating Domain Mapping and JetPack yesterday,I started getting the message “Something has gotten mixed up!” (pasted below), on the top of my admin pages.

The message indicates that the siteURL used to create the child site on the network initially, is not the same as the “Mapped” domain. This is true. The mapped domain is the Live url for the actual site, where the siteurl is listed as the subdomainof the network: sub.domain.com

Domain Mapping is working correctly, and the sub.domain.com is remapping to the livedomain.com as expected.

I assume that this error message is being generated because the two domains differ. Should I:

1. Ignore this and leave the message on the screen. not pretty and confusing for my clients.

2. Change the SiteURL to match the LiveDomain.com (replacing the sub.domain.com with the actual url, the same as the mapped url.)

Thank you in advance,

Hazen

Something has gotten mixed up!

Your siteurl option is set up as http://stp.mainstmarketingpro.com, but your WordPress.com connection lists it as http://dec.stopthepipeline.org!

The data listed above is not for my current site. Please disconnect, and then form a new connection to WordPress.com for this site using my current settings.

Ignore the difference. This is just a staging site for the real site referenced above.

That used to be my URL for this site before I changed it. Update the WordPress.com Cloud’s data to match my current settings.

    Hey @Hazen,

Hope you’re doing well today

I see some other people reporting this issue without Domain Mapping plugin activated, did you try deactivating DM plugin to check if it’s same for you?

Also, you can try disconnecting from wordpress.com by going to JetPack settings and clicking on Disconnect from WordPress.com link, and then try connecting again and check if the issue continues.

Let me know how it goes.

    Best regards,

    Predrag

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I have some questions about your suggestions:

    1) I see some other people reporting this issue without Domain Mapping plugin activated, did you try deactivating DM plugin to check if it’s same for you?

Wont deactivating the DM break the sites? There are live sites here and I would hate to mess them up by testing this.

    2) Also, you can try disconnecting from wordpress.com by going to JetPack settings and clicking on Disconnect from WordPress.com link, and then try connecting again and check if the issue continues.

To this point, what address should we use? The WP sites starts all sites with the subdomain, correct, so that is the domain that is always going to be publishedin the WP siteURL. It is DM that changes the subdomain to the live URL. I am confused about how to get DM’s urlto reflect in Jetpack’s listing.
