edu-clean: how to list blog posts in Main blog?

I’ve set up the awesome edu-clean theme for ucalgaryblogs.ca and it’s really helped get things started.

I’m wondering how to show the blog posts for the Main blog. edu-clean takes over the blog index page, so how do I point to blog posts in just the Main blog of a WPMU site?

    If you find one pleas share it with us, I also want one just showing blogs …I use the multi_sitewide widget and i have moved the tabber to the right you can see it on myblogg.se. I am looking for sitewide widget listning top blogs. Do you have any idé??

    @DLNorman.

    i have checked your blog, it looks good, can you or any body else please tell me, how to get the recent Posts and Comments of all blogs in the Tab Area and sidewide tags on frontpage? I have tried a plugin side-wide-tags but it only shows the main blog tags.

    any help would be great.

    @Mian – the Recent Posts and Comments sections (the tabs near the bottom left?) are handled by the edu-clean options. They’re actually embedded RSS feeds, and I use the sitewide feed (http://ucalgaryblogs.ca/wpmu-feed) and sitewide comments feed (http://ucalgaryblogs.ca/wpmu-feed/comments) to grab that. IIRC the theme supports up to 3 separate feeds, and builds a tab to select each one in that block.

    @andrea_r – there’s the rub :slight_smile: I want my cake and eat it too. I LOVE the edu-clean home.php setup – that’s why I adopted the theme. BUT I also want to have a “news” or “updates” section of the site to show the regular “blog” page for the Main blog site, rather than just a widget or list view. Having full blog navigation on that section is important (older posts, etc…:wink: rather than just the last 5, 10, etc… posts being displayed.

    Hey guys,thanks for your Answers,i have fixed the sidewide Tags problem.But still looking for to get the sidewide post (excerpt) and sitewide Comments in the tabber on the left. I have installed the wpmu feeds pluging and can see the site feeds and comments in rss.

    can you please tell me how to grab it on the front page in the tabs on left?

    would be realy kind of you guys

    I have installed itdamagers plugin but the feeds just dont get created even after writing new posts, comments. Is there any assistance available on this plugin. There is no help associated with this plugin and the author’s website is not active anymore.

    Does anyone know how to uninstall the WPMU sitewide feed plugin. Even after i remove the file from the mu plugins folder and re add it it still shows up with my previous settings. Im thinking a re-install of this plugin gracefully might resolve the issue im facing.

    NOTE: Your WPMU is not using WP Object Cache. Performance will be degraded and site load increased. Please use the object cache for maximum performance.

    Yeah. That plugin is pretty old, and that message looks for an old/deprecated defined constant. As long as you have the file-based object cache file, you would of had to download it from a site (that I can’t remember right now), you can disregard that message.

    Ovidiu, i had tried the links on the config page and they showed up blank as well. I couldnt wait so i have re installed wpmu and now all is well. Must have done something. Drmike, i will look into the object cache plugins just in case. Thanks.

    I found somewhere a post that the object cache plugins don’t work with the newest version anymore, writte nby someone who had adapted the x-cache plugin to work again, but I heard no news about the eaccelerator plugin which I used to use…

    Except for that I am unsure about the status of those plugins.

    This one works for us without issue: http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=14 It’s the file based version that’s basically a copy of what was within wordpress previously.

    Heck. Didn’t even put the turn on caching line into wp-config.php. Worked without it.

    There was a bug a few wpmu versions ago where the cache was causing issues. That’s been resolved.

    When you install it, make sure you check the box within the wpmufeed plugin to tell it to use the object cache. The error goes away.

    Not sure how they do it but I’d create a blank page template for the tag blog that only contains the function call for a tag cloud and then over on the main blog, create a Page using that page template, and then do an include_file with a call to that Page. At least that’s how we do ours with our tag solution. Not sure if it would work in this case.

    Hello

    I want to list blog post too, managed to activate edu-clean option, but I would like to add the blog avatar next to the post desc.

    I thought I could use the “premium avatar plugin” , but I don’t know how to find the blog_id in the rss feed elements to call the function: get_blog_avatar($blog_id,’32’,’identicon’:wink:

    Hello, mi wordpress mu site is blogs.cazorlaturismo.com, and I want too, change the “latest news” module on the front-right.php of edu-clean, and put there a “list of the new blogs created on my wordpress mu for my users”.

    How can I do it? Can I put a plugin in these right position, for example, a list blog plugin? How I do?

    i seems not ot get this to work, after reading over and over the topic. i found out that the post are in the source code even after trying the feed from one of the others in this topic

    What I’m doing is using the sitewide feed plugin and siteburner. I believe the sitewide feed reloads every time it’s beeing called for (That’s what I made out of it anyway). When using it with feedburner, it will only be called for when feedburner does so. Not on every pageview.
