[Forminator Pro] Export form from premade PDF

0

It would be nice and very helpful to put it on your roadmap that it would be possible to export a form with a unique premade pdf. at the moment we have to use an extra plugin for that (https://wordpress.org/plugins/e2pdf/). that function would be the absolut summit of the plugin. so we do not have to pay and install another plugin from another company. WPMUDEV did a video to this topic 3 years ago. it starts at 3:16 „Premade PDF Method” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSs2lxZRfws&t=2s

Thank you very much!

    Hi Patrick,

as I wrote in my ticket: it is not possible to upload premade pdf layouts and to set the form fields on your premade pdf. I could not find it out. you can use templates from the pdf-generator and create you pdf with the plugin. But if you want to use your own premade layout (e.g. you made it in adobe indesign and export the pdf with your content) it is not possible. This feature would be top!

    Best regards

    Hi Marc ,

    Thanks for the additional info.

It seems there are a few functionalities you want to have in the Forminator PDF addon as mentioned below. Please let me know if I am wrong:

    1. You want to have pre-built PDF templates (similar to the ready-to-use templates in Forminator forms) that can be loaded and edited as needed.

    2. You want to create and save a PDF as a template to use in other forms.

    3. You also want the ability to export and import the created template to any other website.

      Hi Vikram,
This is a very useful function to have. I raised this about 2 or 3 years ago because a client wanted to create printable letters for client’s based on the selections they made in the form.

It wasn’t possible at that stage and so as Marc says it would be great if we can have the ability to create a PDF file merging the form inputs and a pre-made template of some kind. e.g. a Word document that acts as a pre-designed template and then creates a PDF after merging? Or a predesigned PDF that merges with the form inputs?

This would be a very helpful feature. For most people I think a Word (docx) template would be the easiest to build as long as they know what merge-fields to use inside the Word docx template. Word would give us a lot of flexibility to design a range of templates that can be merged with the Forminator form inputs.

      Thanks,
      Andre

    Hi guys,
for our needs of agencies, entrepeneurs and designsavvy people, we always need to have the possibility to use a premade pdf. we design it with our unique corporate layout (e.g. with adobe indesign) wih the corporate contents like logo, pictures, and fonts. then we upload it, set it with the individual fields and use it for different needs like contracts, offers, invoices, … The customer and clients can fill out a few fields and sign it. For a design oriented company is this a basic in 2024.

    Hi Marc ,

Thank you Marc and Andre van der Merwe for your responses and feedback.

I have opened a feature request on our Forminator board to consider implementing these features in future versions of the Forminator PDF addon. While I cannot promise when these features will be available, please rest assured that they have been escalated for consideration.

Andre van der Merwe , thank you again for your feedback. Our PDF addon is a new addition and currently includes a very basic PDF editor. We do have plans to develop it into a more advanced editor. The conversion between Word and external PDFs is a more complex feature at this stage, but if we develop a self-contained PDF template system, advanced conversions such as Word to PDF might become possible. However, I cannot guarantee this at the moment.
