When you use “Select” Field (pull-down menu for choosing) you need to enter Options, which is fine. And when you put it in, plugin automatically creates “slugs” one line below – this is fine as well. But what is not fine is that, when you put Options with special characters (slavic, French,…:wink:, slug SKIPS that special character – this is really not fine.
What I suggest?
Transform a character to the closest match, for example:
č –> c
ž –> z
š –> s
é –> e

Or even better, try to implement UTF8 support – maybe I missed with this one but I think you’ve got the point.

    I’m a Slav as well and I just tested with our Polish letters. I can replicate what you’ve said. For example, when I use my name as an option, written with Polish diacritics (Paweł), the generated slug will be “pawe”. When I put something like “Ąść”, then no slug gets generated.

    I’ll let my teammates in the Forminator team know about this and we’ll see what we can do about that.

    BTW – Forminator is fully UTF-8, it’s just how the slug function works at the moment.

    Got an update on this – our team is already aware that this is happening and there’s an improvement task for that. We’ll actually do it in a completely other way so we don’t have to manually replace every possible letter and change it to one without the marks. It will be included in a future release of Forminator – but we don’t have a set release date for that update yet.

    Just to clarify here, what we did is pulled up the label characters in the email. So now even when the slug skips a character, the email pulls up the actual label and not the slug. The task to work on the slugs is still on the board but I am not sure about the release of the same due to a lot of components affecting it. If you are looking to pull in slugs specifically somewhere, I understand it would make an issue but if that’s just for the email notifications, the labels should be pulled so it would not look broken.
