[Forminator Pro] Visual code feature for Forminator

1

Hello, I’m opening this feature request motivated by an issue I got recently. I was working on my Form and I dont know why after spending several hours working on it I hit Save to save my changes but I got an error “Invalid request, you are not allowed to do that action.” and it was only happening on that tab, I tried disabing all the plugins and some other things but didn’t work. Only if I open a new tab with the same form the changes were working OK, so unfortunately I loose all my job. So, a feature like this would help because we would be able to see all the code behind the form, copying it and then reload the page and pasting it again, so we won’t lose the work even if any conflict happens with the browser or the form. That could he useful for me and I believe that to other Forminator users. Thank you

This was a request generated by the support team during my chat with them. The conclusion of the story is that I lost several hours of work which could have been resolved if we had a way for me to copy/paste the code/shortcodes involved in my form creation. Similar to the WordPress Classic Editor function tabs “Visual” and “Text.” There should have been an easier way to recover my work. Another viable option would have been an autosave feature during form creation.

    Hello Joshua
I hope you are doing well today.

The conclusion of the story is that I lost several hours of work which could have been resolved if we had a way for me to copy/paste the code/shortcodes involved in my form creation. Similar to the WordPress Classic Editor function tabs “Visual” and “Text.” There should have been an easier way to recover my work.

Sadly the Forminator Pro forms are more complex than just HTML code, they need to be saved before using the Export feature or any other feature able to extract the JSON data that handles all the information related to the form.

We will check with the developers about what could be done about it. The form editor has a button Save Draft, our advice it add to your checklist while working with the form if still a Draft, click the Save Draft periodically after making some changes in the form and field settings, same if the form is published, then click the Update button.

Another viable option would have been an autosave feature during form creation.

This looks more viable to achieve because the Save Draft and Update features exist, just need to find a way to trigger those periodically while working.

    Best regards,
    Alfredo
